What does Noah actually do?
Noah is a desktop app for your Mac or PC. You describe the problem in plain English — "my laptop is slow," "Wi-Fi keeps dropping," "disk is full again." Noah runs a small set of audited tools (processes, CPU & memory, free disk, network, the system log), names the likely cause, proposes a one-sentence fix, and runs it only after you approve it.
How do I install it?
Download the installer for your platform from onnoah.app — it detects your OS automatically (or pick Mac / Windows). Open the downloaded file and follow the prompts.
macOS: requires macOS 12 or later (Apple Silicon & Intel). If macOS says the app is from an "unidentified developer," right-click the app → Open → Open to confirm the first time.
Windows: requires Windows 10 or later (x64 & ARM64). If Windows SmartScreen appears, click More info → Run anyway.
Do I need an account to try it?
No. Noah is free to start — describe your first problem and see what it finds. Noah tracks usage against an anonymous device ID generated locally on your machine. No account or email is required until you pay (or use a magic link to restore an existing account on a new computer).
Is Noah on the Mac App Store?
No — and that's on purpose. To actually fix a Mac, Noah has to reach the places where problems live: system caches and logs, DNS settings, runaway processes, and the leftover files quietly filling your disk. Apple's Mac App Store runs every app it hosts inside a sandbox — a security lockbox that blocks exactly that kind of access, for every app, no exceptions. A sandboxed app simply can't clear a system cache, flush DNS, reclaim memory, or remove a stuck file outside its own folder.
So a Mac App Store version of Noah wouldn't be a smaller Noah — it would be a Noah that can't fix anything. This is why the trusted Mac maintenance tools ship their full versions directly too; their App Store editions have features stripped out to fit inside the sandbox. Noah takes the direct route so it can do the whole job.
Is it safe to download Noah outside the App Store?
Yes. Noah is signed and notarized by Apple — Apple scans the app for malware and approves it to run, the same malware check the App Store applies. Your Mac verifies that signature before the app ever opens. You're getting an Apple-vetted app, just without the sandbox restrictions that would stop it from fixing your Mac. Installers are served straight from Noah's own infrastructure at onnoah.app.
How much does Noah cost?
Free to start — download Noah and describe your first problem to see what it finds. Pricing is shown in the app, and nothing is charged until you choose to pay.
How do I manage or cancel billing?
Inside Noah: Settings → Billing → Manage billing, or directly in Stripe's customer portal.
Can I get a refund?
Yes — if Noah doesn't work for you, email [email protected] within 14 days of purchase and we'll refund you, no questions asked. After 14 days we handle refunds case-by-case.
How do I sign in on a new computer?
Open Noah on the new machine and choose to restore your account. We email a magic sign-in link to the address tied to your account — click it and your access carries over. No password to remember.
What does Noah read on my computer?
Only what your OS exposes to any app: the running processes (the same list Activity Monitor or Task Manager shows), CPU & memory, free disk space, network status, and the system log. To find what's filling your disk it also checks file and folder sizes — on a Mac, macOS asks your permission first — but it doesn't open your files to read what's inside: names and sizes, not contents. No browser history. No passwords. No screen capture. The conversation is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate the diagnosis; we don't store your chat contents beyond serving the request. What if Noah breaks something?
Every change Noah makes is logged, and destructive operations require a second confirmation before they run. Noah never executes arbitrary shell or PowerShell commands; each action is a hand-built tool with a fixed, narrow scope — so it can only do the specific, named thing you approved.
Is Noah just ChatGPT with a wrapper?
No. The conversation uses a language model, but every action is a purpose-built tool with a fixed scope — Noah can't run arbitrary commands on your machine. The model decides what to suggest; it can only act through Noah's audited tools, and only after you approve.
Will Noah fix a hardware problem?
No — a dead battery, failing SSD, or busted Wi-Fi card needs physical repair. Noah diagnoses the symptom and tells you when it's hardware, so you know whether to book a repair appointment instead of chasing a software fix.
The app won't open after downloading.
